the brass eight day movement with an anchor escapement, five knopped pillars and striking on a bell, the 12 inch brass dial, with a chapter ring with black Roman and Arabic numerals around a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and inscribed 'THOMAS ROBINS CHATHAM', the arch with a 'Strike Silent' dial, the hood with an arched door flanked by three-quarter columns on a trunk with an arched door with gilded chinoiserie decoration and a panel base, with a later backboard, with two weights and a pendulum
