the substantial brass eight day movement with knopped pillars, chiming on a nest of fifteen bells with double hammers and striking on a single bell, the painted oval dial with black Roman numerals around subsidiary seconds, date and 'Strike Silent' dials and inscribed 'HINDLEY YORK' beneath a painted rondel and spandrels, the case with a dentil cornice above a glazed oval door flanked by pilaster columns above a rectangular trunk door and panelled base, with four weights and brass pendulum on a wooden shaft
