the brass eight day, five finned pillar movement with an anchor escapement and striking on a bell, on a 12 inch brass dial, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour and Arabic five minute numerals around a matted centre with a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, beneath an arch with a silvered boss inscribed 'John Cox Long Acre London' between dolphin spandrels, the case with a pagoda hood with brass orb finials above reeded columns, the trunk with a satinwood line inlaid door and plinth base, with two weights and a pendulum
