Pierre-Jules Mêne (French 1810-1879). A 19th century bronze of two whippets at play with a ball, the oval base signed 'P. J. Mêne', 15.5cm high, 21cm wide.
The plaster model was exhibited in the Salon in 1848 and it was No. 93 in Mêne's catalogue, the whippets are called Gigi and Gisella.
