A RARE GEORGE III MAHOGANY SERPENTINE CHEST TEA CHEST
POSSIBLY SCOTTISH, LATE 18TH CENTURY
the hinged lid with a silver coloured ring handle and a laurel leaf carved edge revealing a lift-out lockable canister, with chevron edging, the sliding cover with a brass handle and a tulipwood panel revealing two lidded divisions, one zinc lined, the front with four graduated false drawers with silver plated escutcheons and brass handles, flanked by chevron canted angles, above a carved cable and bead moulding, the sides with inlaid lozenge panels, the back inlaid with a lattice ground and rondels, on brass bun feet
16cm high, 21cm wide, 13.5cm deep
