A mid 19th century German mahogany secrétaire à abattant, with applied carved mouldings, the top with an ogee shaped drawer above a frieze drawer and a cushion framed rectangular panel fall revealing a fitted interior of drawers, serpentine front central cupboard door flanked by spiral pilasters, pull-out pigeon holes with recess behind above a pull-out slide with leather inset above three long drawers with ogee panel fronts all fitted mother of pearl escutcheons the shaped apron on scroll feet, right one part missing, two drawers with printed trade label from 'C.F. Davis' Cabinet, Chair, Upholstery, Bedding & Carpet Manufacturer, 16 Upper Baker Street, N.W. Established 1852', 67.5in (171.5cm) h, 43.75in (111cm) w, 24.5in (62.5cm) d.
