Catalogue Note
Thomas Chubb (1679-1747) was a Deist writer, native to Salisbury. His key work 'A Collection of Tracts on Various Subjects' (1730) is illustrated in the mezzotint offered here, the spine of the book to right of the sitter bearing the title 'CHUBBS TRACTS'.
