of ovoid form with a slender neck, decorated in underglaze blue and enamels with cartouches of birds in branches and fruiting peach branches verso, on an iron red flowerhead ground beneath lappets to the neck and clouds to the foot, blue five character mark to the base, probably for Sakaida Kakiemon XV

Sakaida Kakiemon XV took over the production of Arita pottery in the Saga Prefecture from his father Kakiemon XIV in 2014. The Kakiemon family dates back to the beginning of the Edo period.
