A French Empire ormolu and cut crystal chandelier

A French Empire ormolu and cut crystal chandelier, the corona with applied palmettes and leaves with chains of drops descending to a conforming circular ring supporting eight scroll arms, the candle sconces hung with drops and lustres, with a bud pendant, later electrified, 121cm high, 79.2cm wide.

Provenance:

The Eek family of Stockholm, Sweden who purchased it in Paris, France c.1820, thence by descent and sold by the executors of the Estate of the Late Mrs Anna-Maria Wallenberg, nee Eek (1927-2010).

Bought by the present vendors from Rupert Cavendish Antiques.
