A pair of Regency oak and brass inlaid frames

A pair of Regency oak and brass inlaid frames, later converted to mirrors, each with a rectangular plate within a moulded frame with rondels inlaid to the corners, 55.4 x 73cm. (2)

Provenance: By repute these mirrors were originally Regency picture frames containing watercolours depicting HMS Amazon and these frames were made from her timbers. They were removed from the estate of Sir William B. Parker Bart of Blackbrook House, Fareham, Hants, who was a descendent of the Admiral of the Fleet Sir William Parker who commanded HMS Amazon and served under Lord Nelson.
