A George III mahogany riddleboard, with a shaped lug handle and allover scoring for 1 inch squares, the reverse of the base with a curved edge, 19.75in (50cm) h, 18in(45.6cm) w.
Riddleboards were used in the North of England and Scotland for making oatcakes or oatbread. Oatbread was also known as haver or riddle bread.
