λ An early Victorian tortoiseshell sarcophagus shaped sewing box, with pewter stringing, the lid inlaid with mother of pearl flowers and foliage, the silk lined interior with ivory edging, the lid with a letter pouch, above a lift-out tray with six mother or pearl and bone reel holders, sewing utensils, two thimbles, lidded divisions and compartments on bun feet, 12cm high, 24.3cm wide, 16.8cm deep.
