A bronze hanging oil lamp
A bronze hanging oil lamp, modelled as a mermaid with her arms stretched above her head holding a ring, astride a grotesque mask, 6.75in (17cm) h, 5.5in (14cm) l. A similar lamp dating to the latter part of the 16th century has been attributed to Barthelemy Prieur and another German School, early 17th century.
