A pair of fine Victorian mahogany 'Bristol' dispensing cabinets by Ferris and Co., the moulded cornice with hinged lids revealing compartments for splints, above a pair of cupboard doors revealing shelves fitted with surgery bottles and jars, with ivory roundel inscribed 'Ferris and Co. Limited, Bristol', the inside of the doors also with shelves, the central section fitted with a lead sink and water tank with also drawers and shelves for pharmaceutical sundries, the hinged panelled flap also forms a dispensing counter, the lower section fitted with three drawers and pigeon holes containing original surgical dressing boxes, complete with the majority of their original contents including: apothecary bottles, jars, labels, surgical instruments, pill boxes etc., with original Ferris and Company brochure, 87.5in (223cm) h, 50in (127cm) w, 19in (48.2cm) d. The cabinets original selling price was ?49 and 10s.
