An early 19th century fiddleback mahogany and brass bound jewellery box, the hinged lid with a sunken brass handle, inscribed 'Lady Piggot', revealing a later interior, the underside of the lid with a letter pouch with a cut paper trade label, inscribed 'R. Richard Manufacturer of Writing Desks, Dressing and Work Boxes, Portfolios, Pocket Books, Inkstands & c. Regent Circus, Oxford Street LONDON', above a divided lift-out tray, with a brass Bramah lock, 12.4cm high, 28.3cm wide, 20.4cm deep.
