An 18th century red japanned cabinet on a later carved giltwood stand, the cabinet with engraved gilt brass mounts, the pair of doors decorated palaces and figures in a river landscape, to an arrangement of eleven drawers fitted cast gilt brass handles, the stand carved a central cherub with eagles and hounds on monopodia supports, 68in (173cm) h, 43.5in (110.5cm) w, 22.75in (58cm) d. The drawers have been re-lacquered and the handles replaced. Provenance: Formerly at Fonthill House, Nr. Tisbury, Wiltshire.
