worked with various techniques and stitches on a linen ground, depicting a shepherdess seated on a bench in a parkland setting with her sheep and a horse, with a pond, with a Gothic style country house and trees, the top with initials, religious verses and signed and dated 'Elizabeth Venables sewed this piece in Miss Youngs School 1824, in a later glazed bird's eye maple frame
