A pair of Regency mahogany eliptical sideboards

A pair of Regency mahogany eliptical sideboards, with boxwood edging, a central frieze drawer above an arch flanked by cupboard doors, fitted later brass plate handles on square tapering legs with banded ankles, 36.5in (92.6cm) h, 42.25in (107.3cm) w, 25.25in (64cm) d. (2) The unusual shape of the sideboards would suggest they were originally made for alcoves, where upon their extraction the tops have been extended and re-veneered and each has four new legs for free standing support.
