A George III satinwood front serpentine knife box, with inlaid stringing and tulipwood banding, the sloping hinged lid inlaid a marquetry oval panel enclosing a divided interior, 15in (38.2cm) high, 9in (22.7cm) w, 9.25in (23.5cm) d. Some cracks and losses to veneer, handle and key escutcheon lacking.
