A late Victorian mahogany mantel timepiece by Lupton
A late Victorian mahogany mantel timepiece by Lupton, with an eight day single fusee movement, with a silvered dial with Roman numerals and pierced hands and engraved decoration, inscribed 'C.LUPTON 42. CORNHILL LONDON', in an architectural case, with glass panel sides, the base with a Thwaites & Reed printed label inscribed in pencil 'Messrs Cook,Son & Co, St Pauls Chyd, 19.6.25', 30.8cm high, 21.4cm wide, 17.1cm deep.
Clifford Lupton is listed as a chronometer maker in the 1871. He worked with Barraud and possibly made movements for him. He died in 1910.
