A George III dissected puzzle by John Wallis
A George III dissected puzzle by John Wallis, 'WALLIS'S ROYAL Chronological Tables of ENGLISH HISTORY on a Plan similar to that of the Difsected Maps', hand-coloured engraving on wood depicting English monarchs from William I to George III, published March 31st 1788 by John Wallis no. 13 Warwick Sqre London, 41.4 x 58.5cm, in its original box with printed label on the lid.
Dissected puzzles were the forerunners of jigsaws, they were very simply made by placing a picture on a piece of wood and cutting them into shapes.
