A mid-18th century mahogany longcase clock by Peter Hathornthwaite Kirby Lonsdale, the eight day movement with an anchor escapement and four turned pillars, the 12 1/8in arched brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed 'Peter Hathornthwt Lonsdale', with crowned lion and unicorn coat of arms spandrels, the Cuban mahogany case with a shaped trunk door, with quarter split pilasters and blind fret decoration, 221cm high.
