A French Masonic apprentice piece arch panel

A French Masonic apprentice piece arch panel, with a blind balustrade base and pilasters above, the centre inlaid compass, square and chisel, with initials UVGT (Union, Valeur, Genie, Travail), with a vaulted arch above, late 19th/early 20th century, 18.5in (47cm) h, 11.75in (30cm) w. It is likely that the mason who made the above piece belonged to the company of Carpenters and Joiners.
