the brass eight day drum movement striking on a bell, with a mercury pendulum, the backplate stamped '2590' and with a pastille, inscribed 'Medaille d'argent marti et cie 1889', the circular dial with Arabic numerals and painted with floral swags, the four glass case flanked by columns surmounted by an urn and flaming finials
