A cold painted metal inkwell modelled as the famous music hall comedian Dan Leno, as a pantomime dame, the hinged lid revealing a ceramic well, supporting a book inscribed 'DAN LENO', late 19th / early 20th century, 11.6cm high.
George Wild Galvin (1860-1904) better known as Dan Leno was the greatest Victorian Music Hall comedian and is best known for his dame roles in pantomimes.
