After François Briot. A Victorian electroplate 'Temperantia' basin by Elkington, cast in relief with figures, caryatids, masks, strapwork birds and various scenes, the centre with Temperance holding a wine cup and ewer, inscribed 'TEMPE RANTIA', the reverse with a plaque inscribed 'VR Department of Science & Art, Elkington', 44.2cm diameter.
The original pewter basin can be found in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
