A Jaques & Son Staunton pattern boxwood and ebony chess set, the kings stamped 'JAQUES LONDON' one of each colour of the rooks and knights also stamped with a crown mark, the king: 8.9cm high, the pawn: 4.7cm high, in a mahogany box with a sliding lid, with a printed paper label inscribed 'THE STAUNTON CHESSMEN TWO PRIZE MEDALS AWARDED, 1862.
