A pair of Victorian Irish gilt brass armorial carriage appliques, with the arms of Burke and Canning accollee, each decorated with chained mountain cats, with the motto 'UN ROY UN FOY UN LOY', 13.5 x 20.7cm. (2)

The arms are marshalled in this way to show that UIick John Burke (1802-1874), 14th Earl of Clanricarde, who was created 1st Marquess of Clanricarde in 1825, could display the collar of the Order of St. Patrick he was granted on the 19th October 1831 and that this honour did not apply to the Canning shield of his wife's family.
