A Victorian leather writing box by Wells & Lambe, having stamped foliage and line decoration, the hinged cover initialed 'C.J.' with a loop handle having an escutcheon, with a brass lock stamped 'I.BRAMAH 124 PICCADILLY' having twin lids with a pouch and quill holder with a mahogany lined interior, a further flap with gilt stamped label 'WELLS & LAMBE MANUFACTURES TO THE QUEEN COCKSPUR STREET.' revealing an ebony lift out pen tray, a square box stamped 'PENS' containing nibs, a leather covered vesta, and a leather cased glass well, 12in (30.5cm) w, with key.
