A late 19th century Italian walnut and ebonised open armchair, with pewter and bone marquetry and parquetry, the shaped back centred a soldier flanked by flowering urns, the base with paw feet, to a tapering seat and scroll arms with tassel supports on an open trestle base united by a shaped stretcher.
