AN EARLY GEORGE III PADOUK SECRETAIRE CHEST ON STAND

IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS CHIPPENDALE, C.1765-70

inlaid with satinwood and ebony stringing, with lattice designs, the moulded cornice possibly originally with a cresting, above two short and four long drawers, fitted with original gilt brass Rococo handles, originally enclosed by a pair of doors, the secretaire drawer fitted with an arrangement of pigeonholes and mahogany lined drawers, with a central cupboard drawer enclosing three further drawers and a later leatherette lined writing surface, the stand with applied scroll brackets, on chamfered legs and inlaid guttae feet
