A carved pine ship builder's half block, model of S.S. Tongshan, inscribed with measurements, remains of paper label 'S.S.47. 266 x 36' x 13'6 Hold', on a mahogany back board, late 19th century, 12in (30.5cm) h, 75.75in (192.5cm) w. S.S. Tongshan was built by Harvey & Co, Hayle to the order of T.W. Richardson for the use in the China Coastal trade, launched in 1889 as a two masted schooner.
