A Dutch tulipwood and harewood commode, with canted corners, stringing and gilt brass mounts, the pair of panel doors with inset Japanese lacquer panels, the top edges stamped 'From W Williamson & Sons, Guildford', enclosing a shelf, on panelled square tapering legs to brass bun feet, 35in (89cm) h, 44in (111.5cm) w, 21.5in (55.4cm) d. Late 18th century and later. William Williamson & Sons, Guildford, Surrey 1790-1840 at addresses in Black Horse Lane and Chapel Street, as cabinet makers and upholsterers.
