An early 17th century French bronze large mortar, of tapering form with a pair of pierced clenched fist side grips to fleur-de-lys terminal tracery within triangular borders and a flared reeded rim, 8in (20.2cm) h, 10.5in (26.5cm) dia. Chips to the rim.
