An early 19th century rosewood and brass inlaid breakfront bookcase, the detachable cornice with applied gilt brass mouldings above three glazed doors enclosing three shelves, flanked by open shelves with leather dust guards, above cupboard doors enclosing shelves, and a conforming plinth base, Regency with later additions, replacements and adaptations, 90.5in (230cm) h, 148in (375.5cm) w, 13.5in (34.3cm) d.
Provenance: Purchased by the vendor from Gerald Kerin of Davies Street, Mayfair in the late 1940s.
