A satinwood and marquetry Carlton House desk by Maple & Co., inlaid husk swags, flowers and foliage with kingwood banding, the brass gallery above a bank of six drawers flanked by a pair of curved compartments with a green leather inset surface and two further drawers, above a frieze drawer and two cupboards one with a plaque inscribed 'MAPLE & CO. LONDON, PARIS, BUENOS AIRES, BY ROYAL APPOINTMENT' on square tapering legs and brass caps and castors, 40.75in (103.5cm) h, 47in (119.5in) w, 20in (51cm) d. Restored.
