An early Victorian compass clinometer, by W. Elliott, 268 High Holborn, London, the printed paper compass dial with steel pointer, to a spirit level and two cross-wire sighting holes, the cover with a silver dial marked 0-90 and 0-30 Links, with brass arm, set within a mahogany case with brass mounts, 3.5in (9cm) square. William Elliott working 1804-1849 and at 268 High Holborn 1835-1849.
