A late 17th century pewter Spire flagon

A late 17th century pewter Spire flagon, by George Kent of Lincoln, with a shallow flared base and tapering drum, double scroll handle, double domed cover with knop finial and twin cusped thumbpiece, touchmarks to the inside of base and right of handle (Cott 5748) and crowned X, collector's ink inscription to base 'Minchin 399 O.P 5748', 14.25in (36cm) h. Hinge repaired. Provenance: Cyril C. Minchin, Reading, Berkshire.
