An early 19th century harewood tea chest, of rectangular form with boxwood edging and stringing, the front with a mother of pearl tear drop escutcheon and the sides with Sheffield plate open eliptical handles, the hinged cover inset a coloured engraving of Venus with attendants on a boat, revealing a bowl aperture and flanked by a pair of hinged lidded canisters with printed roundels of cherubs, 6.75in (19.6cm) h, 12.5in (32cm) w.
