A 19th century Scottish mahogany serpentine front tea chest, modelled as a commode with parquetry and stringing, the hinged cover with a leaf carved edge and a silver coloured metal ring handle, revealing a rectangular canister with a brass lock and a sliding cover with chequer stringing and a kingwood panel, revealing a divided interior, one zinc lined and two covers, the front with four false drawers, having plated oval escutcheons and brass Dutch drop handles, chevron canted angles, lozenges to the sides, the back with roundels and stringing, the carved base moulding raised on replaced brass bun feet, 6.5in (16.5cm) h, 8.25in (21cm) w.
