A late George III ebony and silver mounted tea chest by Bayley & Blew, of rectangular form, the hinged cover with a cast crest of a demi-lion rampant out of a Marquess's coronet for the Marquess of Bute, revealing a red leather lined interior with a central circular recess with applied gilt tooled label 'MANUFACTURED BY BAYLEY & BLEW, 5 COCKSPUR STREET LONDON', and flanked by two rectangular canister recesses, the silver hinges hallmarked John Shekleton, London 1803, with key, 8.5in (21.5cm) h, 12.5in (32cm) w.
