the demi-lune triple fold-over top on a single gate support, hinged for tea and baize lined for cards, with a scrolling leaf carved edge, with four dished wells for counters, with a conforming frieze, on turned legs terminating in pad feet carved with dragon masks and ruyi

Catalogue Note

A table of similar form with mother of pearl inlay can be found at Saltram House, Devon. Also, see Carl L. Crossman, 'The Decorative Arts of The China Trade', p.236, pl.87 for a table with very similar carving to the feet, in the collection of Richard Milhender. The author notes that this 'handsome, stylish table is a very rare form'.
