λ An early 19th century French tortoiseshell and ivory Palais Royal étui, the interior with a lift-out tray fitted with mother of pearl utensils including: reel holders, a bodkin with a squirrel handle, a pair of scissors, a glass scent bottle, a thimble and a needle case with a gilt metal and enamel pansy, with a cut steel escutcheon and on ball feet, 6.1cm high, 15.8cm wide, 11.3cm deep.
