A George III mahogany paint box
A George III mahogany paint box, by Reeves & Sons, inlaid with ebonized and boxwood stringing, the interior fitted with lift-out trays containing paint blocks and with paper labels inscribed 'REEVES & SONS, NO. 150, CHEAPSIDE, LONDON', one label for 'SOCIETY FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF ARTS MAN LECTURES AND COMMERCE, ADELPHI, MAY 17 1781', with a base drawer fitted a sunken brass handle, fitted with four ceramic palettes, 7.6cm high, 23.7cm wide, 20.2cm deep.
