A pewter charger
A pewter charger, with later wrigglework decoration
engraved with the Stuart arms and the inscription
'Vivat Rex Carolus Secundus Beati Pacifici 1662' which
translates as 'Long Live Charles II as Blaessed Peace',
the rim decorated with alternate tulips and rondels and
inscribed 'RESTAURATO CAROLO SECUNDO RESPIRAMUS',
and with owner's initials 'T R E' within a wreath,
marked with a fleur de lys and a touchmark 'WP',
18½in (46.6cm) diameter.
