A SILK, GILT AND SILVER THREAD GAMING PURSE

PROBABLY FRENCH OR ITALIAN, LATE 17TH / EARLY 18TH CENTURY

the four alternating panels woven with a coronet above an initial, surrounded by flowering foliage, with a pink silk lining; together with a purse with vertical bands in pink and black silk, and gilt thread intersperced with gilt thread lace work, with probably later tassels, and a miser's purse with cut-steel beads worked into the embroidery (3)
