the brass eight day movement with an anchor escapement, striking on a bell, the backplate engraved with scrolls and a basket of fruit, the arched dial with a silvered chapter ring, with Roman and Arabic numerals, with pierced handles, signed 'Nathan Seddon at St. James's', the moulded case with brass and fretwork panelled sides

Catalogue Note
Nathaniel Seddon was sworn into the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers as a free Brother in 1691-92. He is known to have worked until c.1739.
