mounted on a turned socle

Catalogue Note 

This bust derives from a little known group of a Nymph and a Satyr in the Vatican Reserve Collection. The Vatican Fauness only became known when Clement XIV purchased it from the English dealer Thomas Jenkins. A similar pair of bronze busts by Luigi Valadier were with Trinity Fine Art in 2004, catalogue no: 46.
