A JAPANESE LACQUER HALF MASK, MENPO
EDO PERIOD, 18TH OR 19TH CENTURY
In black lacquer on an iron base, with a bushy hair moustache, the kiritsuke kozane laced in red and blue, the interior in red lacquer, with a paper label from Artemesia, 17.7cm x 22.5cm.
Provenance: from a deceased estate, Hampshire. Acquired from Christie's London, 17th November 1998, lot 217.
