A JAPANESE LACQUER WAR HAT, JINGASA
EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Of typical circular form and made up of twenty-four plates, the top lacquered in grey and with four chrysanthemum-shaped studs, the tehen kanamoto in gilt metal and modelled with further chrysanthemum flowers and leaves, the underside in red lacquer and with padding to the centre, 40.5cm dia.
